System of certification

Regulatory documents on fire safety oblige the owners of objects or persons managing facilities to carry out certain activities such as the maintenance in working condition systems and fire protection means, as well as the elements of fire-fighting water conduits and fire escapes. Many organizations may have their own experts with appropriate qualifications for such works, but the law established that the conformity assessment of fire protection systems and their compliance with current regulations may be carried out only in the form of voluntary certification.

It would seem that getting the fire license � license, issued by the Russian Ministry of Emergencies, to assemble, repair and maintain means of ensuring fire safety of buildings and facilities - many licensees get the right to carry out works on conformity assessment of assembled systems to regulations on fire safety, but this is not true!

In accordance with the Federal Law of 04.05.2011, � 99-FZ "On licensing certain types of activities", the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters issue licenses for installation, maintenance and repair of means of ensuring fire safety of buildings and facilities, including dispatching and commissioning works.

In other words, the license does not allow carrying out works on conformity assessment of facilities to regulations on fire safety, but for installation.

Moreover, organizations licensing procedure does not include checking test equipment and specialists in quality validation (experts).

The main objectives of non-profit partnership �Self-regulating organization of experts of fire safety �Fire Union� are provision of a high quality and safe performance of work; the provision of services and execution of works by members of self-regulatory organization; and avoidance of possible damage to health and human lives, flora and fauna, cultural objects (historical and cultural monuments), property of citizens and legal entities, state and municipal property during works in the field of fire safety.

SRO �Fire Union� is a non-profit organization that has acquired the status of a self-regulatory organization based on the Russian law on self-regulation in order to control and organize activities of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs providing services and carrying out works in the field of fire safety.
